Thanksgiving with Stitching

Hey, Friends!

Hope your Thanksgiving weekend has been filled with great fun, food, and stitching, of course!   I cooked dinner here at our house, and must say the entire meal tasted better to me than ever – the seasoning in everything was right – it was good.  There’s no evidence of it, since I didn't take a single photo.

BoaF Santa - Gold
Last weekend was International Hermit Stitch Weekend – and I did my share!  I finished  Threadwork Primitives Holly Sampler Pouch on WDW 35ct, Cocoa (love this color!).   This week in between cleaning and cooking, I finished BoaF, Gold Santa.  That completes the set:  Green Santa, Red Santa, and Black Santa.   Have I never shown you the Black Santa? I can’t find a photo of it here.

Woo Hoo!  I’m sure by now you’ve see the “Secret News?”   Isn’t it exciting?

No "Black Friday" shopping for me.  How about you?  Did you find some excellent bargains you couldn't resist?

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments!
I'm grateful  for  the week off!

A little posting

Hey, Friends!
Barbara over at To Stitch or Not to Stitch is starting a blog for folks to publish their stash for trade or for sale or what they’d like to find.  Take a look to see if you’d like to join or publish there.
Do you subscribe to Just Cross Stitch?
I stopped mine and decided to just pick up the ones I want.  Yesterday I stopped by my LNS and they had one waiting for me.  It’s the July/August edition, also known as the Christmas Ornament Preview. There are not 20 ornaments, a few are patriotic designs.  Some are cute and I hope to get a few stitched.
Have you seen that Karen (‘s Handiwork) is having what she calls Throwback Thursday?  It’s very interesting to see some of the projects she stitched “in the beginning” and where she is today!  Have a look at her Americana smalls, too.  Her needle has been blazing!

Mine hasn’t been blazing, but getting a bit of workout.  BoaF Green Santa was the finish of the week.  The final one is Gold… but there’s something in the Q-S now that will probably take a little while…  and there are a few other smalls I’d like to get done as well.  We’ll see what happens!

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments!
I'm grateful for finding an old project in the mass confusion of my craft room!

Happy Mother's Day

Hey, Friends!
I hope your weekend is lovely, and that your Mother’s Day is perfect.
Thanks, Graphics Fairy!

I have to admit, I haven’t been so blown away by the most recent BBD Loose Feathers chart, Mary Ann Blackburn.  I did like the box cover piece, but the main, featured design wasn’t blowing me away… until I saw it stitched up by Joan at the Stitching Squad.  Have a look to see if you like it more, too?

Edited to say that a dear stitcher friend has offered the pattern to me.  Thank you!
One design that I do love is The Busy Needle by Little House Needleworks.  I looked to see if I could find any trace of it on Brenda’s blog, and this is what I found:
I have had email and phone calls on an old design I did for my LNS years back called "The Busy Needle".  It is not available for distribution.  If you own a copy, would you please pay it forward to those who wish to stitch it?  Making copies is not acceptable since the material is copyright protected.
Happy Stitching,
Diane

I believe it was one of the “Traveling Patterns” that went by, or was started by, It’s DaffyCat.  If you know who is stitching it now, would you point me in that direction so I can follow it?  Or contact me if you have one that you would consider loaning or swapping?

I’ve been stitching away on what was to be Mom’s Mother’s Day gift… Didn’t start soon enough, so it will have to be her birthday gift.  But before I started that, I did finish the second Birds of a Feather Santa
Red this time.  Next up but I am going to finish stitching that birthday gift first is the retreat project!

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  I love to hear from you!

I'm grateful for Mom!

True Spring

Hey, Friends!
You’d think with the lovely trims I buy there would be lots and lots of finishing going on over here, wouldn’t you?  Not so much… but there are these lovelies from Nancy at Victorian Motto!  Aren’t the colors just yummy?  She has so much going on - reasonably priced, quickest of service, and always something new!

Remember those onion skin dyed eggs?  They made yummy egg salad!  DS is a great cook, but says he can’t make egg salad.  So with these eggs and the purple and pink ones donated by Nan, he went home with a tub full.  Here's my little dish.

Would you believe I’ve procrastinated until today, but my taxes are filed!  Why, you ask? Well there was this…

and then there was this…

Oh, and Sarah Seifer came back from being framed.  Isn't she lovely?  My LNS, Stitch and Frame, always does such a beautiful job.

Mom's sister-in-law, her brother's wife, passed away this week.  She's off work, so we're going to go out for lunch then shopping for a little while today.  All the funeral arrangements have been set for tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  Each of your kind words are  appreciated!
I'm grateful for a few days of true spring !
