April Showers?

Hey, Friends!
On Thursday, we had rain and about 40°.  Not so much like spring, but the predictions for the coming days is climbing up to the 70’s.  Let’s hope it stays in that vicinity of spring for a while!

I started on a new piece on 28 ct planning to stitch over one, but with two threads.  How many times do I have to start a project that way before I remember – it won’t work!  I frogged what had been done and began with one strand.  Now it seems so easy…  Maybe that’s the point??  Not far enough along to share, but maybe next time.

I finished stitching May Word Play by With thy Needle and Thread.  I am really enjoying these!

Oh, and here's April hanging on the office door at work.  Not a great pic taken with my phone...

What else?  Finished the piece that was a gift from TheScarlet House at the PALS conference last year.  Thanks, Tanya.  It was a fun stitch!  It’s in a small shadow box that sort of reminded me of drift(barn) wood with shells around.  It’s stitched on 28ct Tea Linen over one.

Hope you all have a great spring weekend with a bit of time for stitching – maybe on the deck or garden?!

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments!

May 2013 be filled with Happy Stitching!

Stitching at the Beach with PALS 2012

Hey, Friends!
Stitching at the Beach with PALS was great, as every time has been.  I did get a touch of a nasty stomach bug, but even with that thrown in, it was a great time spent with stitching buddies .  Thanks go to Amy from Down Sunshine Lane for establishing this long tradition.  This was the 15th annual event, although only my third.  Pixie and I got along quite well this year.    There were so many celebrities new friends in the mix this year, and it was certainly a pleasure to meet each one and see their beautiful designs in person.  Let’s see if I can remember who was there, but please forgive me in advance if I forget anyone.  I wish I had been on my game enough to take a photo of each of their display tables, but…

Isabella from The Primitive Hare
LaDonna from Black Branch Needlework
Marie from Blackberry Lane Designs
Pam and Susan from Praiseworthy Stitches
Stephanie from Nouveau Encore Designs
Sue Hillis Designs
Tanya from The Scarlett House
Last but never least was Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  Nancy was unable to join us in person unexpectedly, but thanks to Linda, her wonderful array of beautifully colored goodies was there for us to touch, enjoy, and purchase!

didn't take a lot of photos, but have found some blogger PALs who did:

There was a nice "Retreat"bag prepared from many donations from multiple vendors.  Here is a sample of some of the items included.

And then of course there were additional purchases as well as a couple of gifts from friends.  I've already put away the charts and goodies bought from other vendors, but you'll get to see them as time goes on.

didn't participate in any of the exchanges this year, but they looked like lots of fun!  I did make a little something to remember the fun for a few friends!

The was great fun, and I'm already looking forward to next year!  If you weren't there, try to work it out to come next year!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope your weekend keeps you in stitches!

I'm grateful for living close (four hours) to the coast!
