Yarn 'n Silk

Hey, Friends!
Remember that I was the lucky winner of the gift from Patty of Hanging on by a Thread.  Here’s the lovely project she stitched for me.  I love it, and the way she chose to finish it. The La-D-Da chart also fills an empty spot in my collection.  Thank you so much Patty for your generosity and sharing your talents!

You know I’ve been looking for Midsummer Night Designs, Memorial Sampler.  Thanks to a recommendation by Ranae, it has been ordered.  Thanks so much for keeping an eye out!

Guess what I was at Walmart the other day?  They have brought back the fabric aisle and a few groupings of DMC.  Funny – they had them arranged in plastic drawers by color!

Have you noticed how early fall seems to be coming?  I was so surprised to see the dogwoods with full, red berries the other day. The other morning there was one little blue morning Glory on the trellis.  They always remind me of fall – the beginning of school, waiting on the front porch when I was a girl.  This morning was almost chilly when Pixie and I went out.

I’ve still be stitching on Gobble, until I ran out of one of the Hand-Dyed fibers colors!  I was certain there was enough – or at least a color close enough – but not so.  It’s ordered so should be on the way soon.  In the meantime, I’ve pulled out some pretty cotton/wool/silk yarn called Coconut Shell and started a scarf.
Yesterday I stopped by a little shop and picked up a new to me type – Manos silk blend.  It really looks like fall, doesn’t it?

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments!
I'm grateful for a little chill (not so humid) in the air!

and Happy Stitching

  5. Lovely win!! I love the scarf -- so pretty! That's interesting about Walmart. I wonder if mine has that too. The last time I looked, I didn't notice any fabric or DMC. It was just automotive stuff where such things used to be. Ah well.

  7. Nice win you received and glad you were able to find the pattern you were looking for. My Walmart seem to only carry select colors and I have no idea how they determine what colors to carry.
The scarf looks nice and soft.

  17. Charlene, Wow! You're a knitter also? Talented!! I love the scarf colors and the fact that fall is just around the corner. Of course here in Omaha that means snow isn't to far behind!! The La-D-Da win is very nice. The color and finishing is great!!Glad to hear you found the chart. I have been looking for it also but have not had any luck except for the outlandish prices on E-bay which I just can not bring myself to pay. It would be a wonderful memorial to my Mother but practicality trumps memorial!
    Enjoy the fall,
    Connie Adrian
