Getting ready for fall - TV and stitching!

Hey, Friends!

I found this frame at a thrift store or sale bin, and when I measured Eve’s Garden, she was the perfect size!  After dusting it off with a bit of polish, I let her sit behind the frame for a week or so to see if they matched, and decided they did. I started trying to stretch the piece, but the verse and lines were NOT working with me, the frame needed glass, so I took it to my LNS to have them do it!  Picked it up yesterday, and I love her! How do you think she turned out?

Since finishing Eve, I’ve been stitching the monthly Word Play pieces.  As of now, November is about half way done. My plan is to get them done through December then stitch whatever strikes my fancy.  My fancy IS trying to sway me, but we'll see how that works out!

Watched season two of Revenge over the Labor Day weekend.  A real soap opera, isn’t it?  On my way out the door for work Tuesday morning, I pulled my back out, so sick leave off work allowed extra hours of stitching and TV watching, too.  I found some things that I liked on Amazon instant video – Season three of Downton Abbey and Brothehood.

Some other things I watched and liked recently on Netflix are The Fall (Jillian Anderson), Orange is the New Black, Call the Midwife.  I’ve caught up on Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Season 4 Damages.

Thanks for stopping by, today and always.  I really do enjoy reading your thoughts and comments even though sometimes I fail to respond directly!

May 2013 be filled with Happy Stitching!

  8. How come I never find anything good at the thrift store? (My suspicion is that I don't know how to look!) I love your finish. Good call on letting the professionals take care of it! :)

  10. Such a great find, Charlene--the frame accents your beautiful finish just perfectly :) You've been so good at keeping up with the monthly Wordplays. I really fell short this year--have only finished January and April. BUT, they will all get done, eventually :)

The only way to watch a show like Revenge is all at once. It is a bit confusing, but I'm hooked, too! Will have to check out some of the others you recommended...there don't seem to be many exciting new shows coming out this fall, unfortunately.

    Have a lovely weekend--I'll be working :(

  17. I think you were very fortunate in your find. I never find nice ones like that, though I've been looking for one for a while, but for a special piece of paper, not a stitchery. Your needlework is, as always, exquisite! I watched all of Continuum (only 10 episodes so far!) and now I'm working through Fringe, more than half way to the end. What I love is that if I'd watched these in the original, I'd have had to wait a week with cliffhangers, but now I can just move right into the next episode! Someone else I know liked Orange is the New Black, too. I'll have to check it out.
