Hey Friends!
At least it isn’t hot today! We’ve been having near 70s for the past week
or so, and it really doesn’t promote Christmas spirit.
Holly Sampler |
Have you gotten all your ornaments stitched and
finished? Last time I showed you the
stitched Threadwork
Primitives Holly Sampler Pouch…
but I didn’t make it into a pouch. It’s
my first tiny quilt hanging, using some little scraps and pieces from my stash. It is far from perfection, but still cute to
me.

Next up was Country
Cottage Needleworks’ Joy but substituted Victorian Motto
hand-dyed threads from an antique Christmas set that I bought at PALS.
What am I stitching now? Country Cottage Needleworks’ Santa’s Village,
and first up is Santa’s House. Not enough to show yet, but I’m using
the recommended fibers, but 28ct (over one)on Carolina Linen in Sand. I believe the SAL is full, but here’s the
link SSVT if you'd like to follow along.
Thanks for dropping by today. I always enjoy reading your thoughts and comments. I hope it’s beginning to feel a lot like
Christmas in your area.

ReplyDeleteQuestion for you...what is Carolina linen?
Enjoy your weekend!

Very pretty! We will get snow today.
ReplyDeleteHi there! Your quilt hanging is quite nice to me, too! I am going to try something like that in the near future! I just saw your ornament TUSAL and it brought an idea to mind for my orts next year! Love blogging--we share so much! Soon it will be so dang cold, so I enjoy amy rise above 40 that we get these days! Not a fan of cold weather! Merry Christmas to you and yours Charlene! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt hanging! Your stitching is lovely. Isn't it fun to stitch for Christmas at this time of year? Even if I know it won't be completed until next Christmas, it just puts me in the frame of mind of the season!
ReplyDeleteCathy

ReplyDeleteFantastic finish and finish-finished, Charlene! The little quilt looks great--neat idea for finishing! I can't believe you're getting 70 degrees! It's in the high 40s/low 50s here and been frosty in the mornings.

You did a wonderful job on your wall hanging!! Of course I like the "Joy" piece! LOL I am not in the village SAL, but I will be peeking!
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes!! Love the hanging :)
ReplyDeleteLovely Christmas stitching. Enjoy the SAL, it will be fun to see it develop.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely too warm for Christmas--been in the mid-50s here all week, but has been horribly gray and rainy. Blech!! Your nice bright colors in the second finish sure brought some much-needed sunshine to my day, Charlene... The SAL looks like fun--looking forward to following along with all of you :)
ReplyDeleteI love the addition of the fabric on the Holly Sampler. I've always liked that kind of finish where quilting is mixed with cross stitch. Making it into a hanging was a great idea, especially for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI love Nancy's floss also, she has some of the best reds.
Thanks for sharing it. I really love to see the creative finishes of others.
Smiles, Nan
