Friday After

Hey, Friends!
Earlier in the week I opened the mail to find a surprise from my friend, Judy at Stitch Along with Me.  Thank you so much for thinking of me, Judy.  I will be sure to let you know when it ‘comes to life.’
Thanksgiving dinner was good, if I do say so myself!  I kept a plate of leftovers and sent the rest home with DS.    He is a traditionalist, so most everything is the same from year to year, but wouldn’t it be great if everything turned out great in one year?  One year it’s the collards that are ‘the best ever.’  Next year it’s the squash casserole, but I am grateful that it is usually one thing or another!  A new dessert this year was Paula Deen’s Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake.  If you love rich and delicious, give this a try.  There are other than pumpkin options, but it was great.  I did add pumpkin pie spice instead of the spices listed to mine.
It’s “Black Friday” here in the US, the day after Thanksgiving when stores open very early (3:00 a.m.) with sales to start the shopping spree for Christmas.  It’s usually too hectic for me, but there was something I wanted and it was $100 off.  Since stores typically only have a limited number of the advertised items, I wanted to be there when the advertisement said they would open; 6:00 am.  When I pulled into the parking lot at 5:45, there were a lot of cars there, and no line waiting outside.  As I walked up there was an employee standing there who asked if I came for something particular.  I asked about the time, and she said, “We decided to open earlier - when the other stores opened.”  If my item had been gone, I would have been miffed, but it wasn’t.  What made me do this?  It is a kitchen cart that I want to use in my craft room for finishing projects.  It has a stainless top, with drawers and shelves.  Of course it’s in a box, and still in the car.  I still can’t lift over 15 pounds, so it will be there until DS comes again.  Have I peaked  your interest?  When I got home, the recliner was waiting for me with open arms…
My LNS, The Stitch and Frame Shop, has a sale in progress, so I went the other day to get some things for a Secret Santa Exchange and the fabric for my Anniversaries of the Heart (BBD) project.  Isn’t this lovely?  I did a floss toss for the first few months, and it looked very nice!
Thanks for stopping by today for a visit and if you have another couple of minutes, would you take the Poll in the right column regarding whether you use a stand to hold your stitching.  I’m considering getting one for Christmas and would like your opinions.  If you have something to add, please leave a comment as well.  Your Needler’s Points are always welcome and appreciated!

  7. Hi Charlene, the cart sounds like a terrific idea. I participated in your poll. I don't always use a stand, but when I do, I use either lap or floor, so I put that down. Hope that was OK.
Glad you are feeling better and remember, you ARE getting better and better every day, in every way!!!
