Continuing with the patriotic theme, I stitched a couple of letters from the Shepherd's Bush Flag. As I look at it now, I want to go back and put some vine on the small piece - the 'a'.
Last year I met Marie from Blackberry Lane and bought the kit to stitch Boo Moon that was in the Halloween issue of Just Cross Stitch. I came across it recently and decided to get started. Well, as you see, I didn't get very far.
I finally found one that kept me in the mood for stitching - With thy Needle and Thread - Mystery Part II! I wanted a bit more contrast in the alphabet, so I'm using Olive instead of the recommended. I haven't gotten there yet, but did you see that Myra has made the birds cardinals, and they look fantastic! Maybe I'll get to the tree later.
I’m trying to decide – and would like to hear what you think:
Do you have/use Facebook and/or Twitter? If so, which do you prefer, if either, and why?
Do you have/use Facebook and/or Twitter? If so, which do you prefer, if either, and why?
I suppose the reasons I haven’t until now are a few, but mainly paranoia, and secondly, who cares what I’m up to – it’s usually working or stitching; right? But now there are some interesting links I’ve seen that may entice me more. Not really games or ‘collecting’ friends, but links to interesting places like Pinterest. And some of the favorite blogs say, follow me on twitter. Do I really want to? Right now I’m thinking I’ll go with Twitter, and continue to use this Blog as my posting spot larger than 140 characters. So let me know if I’m missing something. One Twitter sign up said it would allow them to modify my profile – that just doesn’t sound right to me! And since I strated writing this, I created an account, so if you Tweet, let me know.
Stay cool - oh, and the new yahoo group Blackbird Stitchers are gathering today for a cyber stitch in if you'd like to drop by for some Lemonade and Pie!
Thanks for coming by and especially for leaving a few words.
Your stitching looks great. I know what you mean about sitting down to stitch and find yourself dozing. As for f/b and twitter. I have a twitter account but don't tweet. I do f/b and enjoy it for the most part. I've been able to reconnect with old friends and keep up with what is going on with people. People use f/b for lots of reasons, following designers, couponing, etc. Some can get a bit ridiculous with their post. No I don't really care that they went to the store and made porkchops for dinner. Lol! I just over look those posts. I don't post often as I feel that I don't do anything that important. Try them both and see which one you like.
ReplyDeletewell we actually had a lovely warm day today over at the mouse house for a change !! and I f/b and chat to my friends and occasionally comment on things but don't do any games any more :) and love the new group but haven't got any bb to show stitched yet but my charts have now arrived YEAHHHH :) love mouse xxxx
ReplyDeleteAll your stitching is wonderful but your Mystery Sampler is gorgeous. I wish I had changed my alphabet color....
ReplyDeleteYep, not much stitching going on around here. I work in an office, too but boy, the heat really zaps me.
Your WIP are so nice especially the Mystery Sampler! I fb so I can keep up to date with family and friends...don't post much but do comment a bit and enjoy the pictures that everyone posts there!
ReplyDeletePraying for some relief from this heat! Just too hot to do much.
ReplyDeleteLove progress on your stitching. BOAF is looking great and I like your alphabet change.
I don't Tweet or F/B....like you I just can't imagine anyone is really interested in what I am doing.
happy stitching....stay cool.
I like your little fans on your page, Charlene--they've been keeping me nice and cool as I read through this post :)
ReplyDeleteLove your BOAF--the color you've chosen for the lettering looks greats and the SB Flag piece is darling...I'll have to remember that one for next summer :)
Hope things cool down quickly--we've never used our AC as much as we have this year!
Your pieces look wonderful and I'm wondering if I should change the alphabet thread on my Mystery Sampler. I might have to make that change.
ReplyDeleteI have both Facebook and Twitter and really don't use either one. Twitter I set up and promptly forgot about and didn't see why I needed to read about what everyone was doing every minute of the day. Facebook I set up just to check up on my kids. Too many other things to do, I guess.
And it's hot here too - and humid. I'm not complaining though - better than the horrible winter we had.
Yep, HOT is the word these days. :o) I love the SB piece - I have been stitching some patriotic pieces lately and loving them. Thanks for the compliment on my Mystery Sampler. Seeing your letters makes me wish I had chosen a different floss for mine. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI love your WIP's, especially the SB one. I f/b to keep up with my family that is spread all over the country. I don't post much, but I do love seeing the pics my people post and hearing lots of news.
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching. I especially like the Mystery sampler and the color change you made.
ReplyDeleteI love facebook. I have my blog for my stitching and my fb for keeping up with the family and dog events. I don't do the games and block them as they come up but I do like fb.
Have a great week.
Your stitching is lovely:)
ReplyDeleteI am on Facebook but not Twitter. I went on FB to keep up with my eldest DD when she went to university but I also have lots of stitching friends on it too, some family and friends. The games are a bit of a nuisance as they get addictive to I try to stay away from them!
Beautiful stitching! I'm glad to hear you're still able to stitch in the heat! Thank God for AC.
ReplyDeleteI am on Twitter and FB. I have an iPhone with apps for both so I do my reading of both on there. I rarely post on either, especially FB. I have a load of stitching friends on FB and then my family and friends. I figure my stitching friends can read about my stitching on my blog and my family & friends don't need to read about it. Mostly I just read and sometimes comment on other people's stuff. I have blocked all the (IMHO, stupid) games. I am on Twitter and do love to participate in their Friday Reads, since I love reading. I follow a lot of news and religious and political stuff--as well as TV and celebrity gossip (gotta keep it real! LOL)--so I enjoy it for that. My daughter is encouraging me to tweet more but honestly, both with Twitter & FB, I am at a loss as to what to write. "Just washed another dish!". "Wow, my feet hurt!". That's about as exciting as it gets for me. LOL I enjoy Pinterest and Good Reads the most, after blogging, of course!
