Blackbird Designs Update

Hey, Friends!
A couple of updates on my current Blackbird Designs SAL projects.
This is the current status of Winter Wonderland (below).
And here’s Snow Garden (right).
When I was taking pictures of my BBD Snow Garden with the chart, I noticed how much more silver some of the threads had in them in their photo compared to my actual threads.  I also noticed when I was choosing threads from the rack that there was a lot of variation between skeins.  Have you noticed this too?  It could be the dye lot, or the amount of variation in the dying process, but there can be a lot of difference.  Do you think it has made a difference in which fabric you chose or how your project turned out?
Asking that question reminded me that I don’t believe I shared the Poll Results from the standing frame holder question a while ago.  And now I can't find the details, but apparently most friends here don’t use one.
I've decided to post my TUSAL updates in the side column this year.  See à
Thanks for coming by today.  I look forward to hearing your Needler’s Point and checking in to see what you’ve been up to lately!

and Happy Stitching

  1. Both your SALs look great.

  2. You've made great progress on both designs. They are both fantastic but I'm really into winter patterns right now so I can't wait to see Winter Wonderland when its complete.
    Happy Stitching!

  3. Both of your SAL look awesome. Working in an LNS I can say that I have noticed the difference in skeins of the overdyed thread...sometimes a BIG difference...almost not even the same color. Also, photos of the project on the leaflet can be WAY off in color. That being said...I thought I would show you my take on Winter Wonderland. You can see it on my friend Julie's blog.

  4. Beautiful progress on both BBD designs Charlene!!

  5. Both your BBDs are beautiful Charlene. I've just started Snow Garden too and really didn't want to put it down last night :)

  6. Charlene, you have a great start on your BB pieces! They are both so pretty.

  7. Both those pieces are going to be beautiful!

  8. Wow you are coming right along! You know I am still waiting on those turbo needles you have! Can't wait to see what they look like at the next stitch night! Loved seeing you Tuesday and I LOVE my tin! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!

  9. Charlene. I like the way Winter Wonderland is coming along and snow garden is looking quite beautiful as well.

Thank You for sharing your advice, comments, and remarks with me! I love hearing what you have to say! Please come back again soon...
