I finished my first Bride's Tree Ornament as a part of the yahoo group for January. It is from the Best Wishes Ornaments booklet from Rosewood Manor - the House of Protection. I used 18 ct Aida in Oatmeal color with two strands of DMC floss. This is the front of the ornament...
...and the back is here.
I attempted to use a lighter color in 22 ct, but it didn't look so good and it was very hard to see. I'm not sure if I should have tried one strand, or to stitch over two. The 18ct stitched up very well for me.
So yes, I've been doing a little reading, and a little stitching, too! ;-)
Hi Charlene,
ReplyDeleteCute house! What's in the windows? They are so pretty. Is that fiddler's cloth? I think it looks just great....love the lettering and the outline, too. Just what a house should be, a place where all who enter feel protected! You're way ahead of me...I'm still on part 1 of the Val. SAL....but getting there.
Happy Stitching,
You're doing just lovely work on these. Looks like a wonderful way to relax and pass the time!
ReplyDeleteYour ornament looks very pretty. Nice job!

Very pretty piece. I love the way the vines trail down. How many things are you doing for this?
ReplyDeleteHello Charlene,

Hi Charlene! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog for a 'visit'! :> I love it when someone new drops in ... and blogging has brought so many wonderful new friends into my life. :) I'm a bit of a hit-and-miss blogger...sometimes I just am at a loss for words ;), and sometimes I just am not in the mood to be on the computer. LOL But I always pop up again, sooner or later. :) Love your cross stitch. I did that for a lot of years, then got bitten by the quilt bug. Right now I'm a beginning knitter. Alright, okay, I'm a bit OCD, with ADD, and all of those other DDDDD's. ROFL Stop by any time!
