Love continues...

Hey, Friends!
Have you heard about International Hermit & Stitchers Weekend?  Well I’ve stumbled across it and realize it was last weekend.  I certainly did participate, even though I didn’t know it. My IHSW meant not leaving the house – or more accurately, didn’t get in the car!  I’ve put a button on my sidebar, and will try to post the dates (third weekend) there as I think about it.  You can click here or there to learn more about it.
So, other than stitching what did I do?  Watched season one of Downton Abbey in its entirety! I had seen so many comments on lists and blogs about it, I had to reactivate Netflix to see what it was all about!  It is really good, and hopefully they will have season two soon – even though it just ended last week.  I read that  Shirley McClain will be joining the cast next season as the American mother!
I've also started season five (the last) of The Wire.  They are nothing alike as this one is all about Baltimore police, drugs, and politics.  I'm sorry to see it come to an end, but there are only so many stories to tell.
There was a new moon this week, so my TuSAL is posted over in the right sidebar.  As you’ve seen there has been a lot of Valentine stitching going on, so there’s a good bit of pink to red added this month!  But I’m thinking of moving on to ‘the green’ next!

Here’s a photo of my Lizzie*Kate, Love is Best, stitched on mystery 36ct linen with various DMC fibers.  Would you believe I didn’t stitch a single thread last night?  No, me either.  Had a few things to do, and if I ever pick up that needle, that’s it for the evening.
Thanks for all your recent visits and comments.  They make me smile!  Hope you all have a nice stitching weekend.  We’re under tornado watch today – it’s supposed to be in the low 70s, then back to low 50s for tomorrow!
I'm grateful for stitching blogger friends

February sends Valentines

Hey, Friends!
My DS was on vacation this week, so he came to visit and help my Mom get her driveway in order – it was almost ready for big truck mudslinging.  He cooked brisket for Reuben one night – juicy and delicious.  We were going out one night, but Nan wanted to cook so she made honey chicken wings with lots of sides.  My poor tummy hasn’t been the same with all the fast food missing from my diet!  Notice I didn’t have a night… the going out part was mine - LoL.  He left for Iowa to visit a friend on Friday.  I’m sure you all know this, but I don’t have many loved ones flying about.  I went online to see if his flight took off since it was foggy on Friday morning, and found that you can track the flight and watch it progress to the destination.  Very cool.

Speaking of flights, I haven’t flown in a very long time, but made flight plans for the Tree of Life Samplings retreat in June.  Are you planning to attend?  Did you go last year?

There has been a little stitching (pun intended) going on.  No finishing, but maybe in time for next year!?  Here is Birds of a Feather, Love and Heart in Hand’s Valentine Bird.  I’ve continued using that 36ct Toasted Coconut linen from Tree of Life.   I’m not the greatest photographer by any stretch of the imagination, and attempting to use the phone’s camera probably wasn’t the best idea, but …
Thanks for popping in today, and I’d love it if you’d say Hey!  I took off that frustrating word identification mess.  What were they thinking – it’s not like we’ve got world secrets here!

Hope you’re having the kind of weekend you love.

I'm grateful for chilly, gray, drizzling Sunday.

February should mean snow...

Hey, Friends!
I would like to collect the address and birth date of my cyber friends, so if you would, please email with Full Name, birthday, and postal mailing address.  I promise it’s only for my personal use – not to be sold or used for blackmail.  LOL

To all my red loving friends, have you been to Modern Folk etsy shop?  They offer pdf cross stitch patterns there, and there are some beautiful ones.

For the first time I noticed a consignment shop next door to the salon after getting my hair trimmed  Saturday.  There really wasn’t anything I had to have there, but the curtain to the dressing room was quite different.  I’d really love to show you, but why don’t I think to take pictures while out and about?  So many of you share your finds, but my mind goes blank!

I’ve been having fun stitching since we last talked.  First was “Endless Hearts” by ThreadworkPrimitives.   Doesn’t Nan design beautiful projects?  It is stitched on 36ct Toasted Coconut from the Tree of Life Samplings linens. This was the first time I stitched on this linen, and I do love it!  Great job, Jan!  If you want to try some, I believe you’ll have to email Jan.

Next is Lizzie*Kates “A Little Love.”  Again it’s stitched on 36ct Toasted Coconut using the recommended over-dyed fibers.  Fun stitching it was!

Off to run errands, but there’s a little Birds of a Feather piece in the Q (snaps) to be shared next time.

I’m excited that we’re having a little cool weather this weekend – there has really been NO winter, and I miss it.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you're having the kind of weekend you love!

I'm grateful for the designing talents of others!
