Onward

Hey, Friends!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  Here it came and went, as holidays do, and it was fine. You remember that Mom is back to work now, so Thanksgiving is another work day for her and today, Friday, both she and DS are working.  Since our time together was limited, there was no mention of our losses this year - my rationale was to prevent emotions from affecting appetites – and I’m sticking to it.
I couldn’t wait to get the kitchen cleaned up so I could start stitching again!  Here is Season of Giving (with a bit of revision) by Lila’s Studio from the 2011 Just Cross Stitch Ornament edition done on coffee stained 32ct stash with HDF silks.  As I looked at the photo, realized it needs to have the year, so I’ll do that before starting another.
Here in the US the day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday (merchants day to get ‘out of the red’ for the year), but it is hardly the day after anymore since some started at midnight or earlier.  I don’t feel up to fighting crowds for any specific gifts or treats this year.  Do wonder if it may be a good day for IKEA visiting, but it’s probably overrun, too.
It’s time for the New Moon: TuSAL is in the side bar this year à
Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate y’all!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey, Friends!
Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you’re being more focused in your preparations for Thanksgiving than I am.  I’ve done a little of this and that, but I don’t want to get with the program and finish.  What, you ask?  Cleaning, grocery shopping, and cooking.  I’ve had lots more fun stash shopping online!
I did finish Merry Skating – LHN Ornament on28ct Monoco over one.  Mine always have a bit of ‘uniqueness’ about them, but that’s ok with me!  Now I’ve chosen and kitted a few from the JCS 2011 magazine.  See why I don’t want to do the tasks at hand?
Here’s a note from when  …started a new project: Gateway to Summer by Water's Edge, Bobbie Marek. I'm using DMC floss and Monaco 28 ct Tea.   Do you think I was in love with that fabric in 2009 (when it was finished)?   As you see, I went with a more traditional framing. Peggy at my LNS – Stitch and Frame, did a beautiful job. I picked it up and hung it the other day.

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate all your kind words.
I hope your Thanksgiving if filled with many blessings!

Thankful

Hey, Friends!
I am thankful for each and every one and wish you all a fulfilling Thanksgiving season.
On my agenda is planning the menu and shopping (I did already buy the turkey), cleaning house, and cooking.  But you know those tasks don’t usually stop me from stitching…
Finished a couple of Little House Needleworks Ornaments on28ct Monoco.  I love these little ornies stitched over one.  I added Joy to the World to the last post, and here is Under the Tree.  Marsha asked how I finish these little things, that usually turn out to be roughly 3x3 – some a bit smaller or larger.  Here’s a link to a few that I finished last year. I’m thinking the Merry Skater is next on the drawing board. Wouldn't you think I'd really 'finish' before posting?  Duh... I will repost... here it is with popcorn.
From 11.12.11
I’ve been searching for the little sticker that goes on the license plate – what on earth did I do with it?
Were some of you praying to St. Anthony and holding positive thoughts for me?  Found it!  It was in a stack of mail that was on top of the recycle bin… Moral of this story is – don’t take the decal apart from the registration form until it is affixed to the license plate!!
Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate all your words of kindness!  What have you been up to? I’m going visiting now.

November

11.13.11 updated to add finished pic
Hey, Friends!
The leaves have mostly fallen today, but a few days ago I caught some colors of fall at home 2011.  They are so beautiful… the golden maple held her leaves long enough to turn, and the burning bushes are truly ablaze!
Remember I said I’d be stitching a few ornies?  I’ve decided to pick up with the Little House Needlework ornies I started last year – on 28 ct over one.  I just love ‘em!
Instead of stitching a lot the last few days, I’ve been searching for the little sticker that goes on the license plate – I have the registration side, but not the sticker – what on earth did I do with it?
This week my new phone came – it’s an iPhone.  You probably don’t know (or care) but I’ve been a Blackberry person for quite some time, so this is my first adventure with the touch screen.  It has been ok, but I Am glad to have Siri – the  assistant I can chat with for problems!  Who would have ever thought it possible?
Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate all your words of kindness and humor!
I hope you have a delightful autumn weekend – watching football, playing in the yard, traveling, stitching, or whatever else with those you love!

Falling Back

Hey, Friends!
Did you set your clock back last night or this morning?
Yes, going back to work was fairly tough, but the week is over and now back into the routine.  There were good things to go back to… we’re back to fully staffed now – yeah – for the first time in several years!  The pressure relief  was honestly noticeable, and I guess the rest from being away helped some on that front, too.
I made a couple more of the little string catchers for practice.

You’ve asked to see my progress with Mary Gibson, so here she is – not nearly as far along as I’d hoped, but ...  I’ll say it’s just less than one quarter finished. I’m going to finish the page I’m working on, then will turn my attention to a few Christmas ornies to share stitching time.

Did you see that Diane at Little House Needleworks has decided to carry on with the monthly ornaments she’s created for the last two years?  Of course you know that The Twisted Stitcher, Vonna,  is the talented artist who finishes them; right?  If luck and hope holds out, I’m trying to get to meet her this year… more on that later!
Now I’m going to hop around to see what you’ve all been up to.  Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate all your words of kindness!
