Days Away!

Hey, Friends!
I’m popping in today to ask if you recognize this little quip:  DF&GR.  If not, you should hop over for a visit on Edgar’s Blacksheep’s Bit of the Web.  Not only is he a prolific, wonderful stitcher~ enabler, San Francisco tour guide, but he is also quite the vintage movie critic!  He’ll go shopping at the drop of a hat, then bake up something that will make your mouth water!  Edgar’s fourth-year Blog Anniversary is coming up, so he’s taking entries now and will soon have the Who Hounds reach into the BOD (bowl of destiny) to draw a lucky winner.
So what am I doing posting on Thursday, you ask?  Oh, how happy I am to have a few days off work.  I’m laz-ing about this morning on the computer.  Yeah, you’d think that I would want to be far-far away (since that’s what I do, lately 60+ hours a week) but this is the fun stuff.  I have a few finds and a bit of stash to share, too.  I’ll have to take a peek back to see what you’ve seen already, so give me a few minutes.
Here are a few goodies I lucked upon last week.  I was looking for an antique shop, but happily found some thrift stores along the way!  Milk glass has caught my fancy recently, and who doesn't love a 'different' frog?  A couple of bone dishes from the GW, and a handled shot glass is perfect to get my scissors up to hand's reach on the side table.  Oh, and that heart scissor fob just hopped into my bag at Stitch and Frame last time I was there!
These little Blue Birds of Happiness are signed and dated.  I already had one (that is not), and didn't realize theses were until I got home and was looking online to see if they are plentiful..  They aren't valuable, but just sweet little collectibles.
And the Waverly fabric they're sitting on is actually three sample pieces that are about 30x30.  It's called Country Weekend, and thought it would make great pillows or seat covers.
All these lovely trims are from the Victorian Motto Sampler Shop.  I'm in hopes that all these pretties will help me want to finish more stitching!
I was able to find 'In Her World' design by A Mon Ami Pierre and 'Favorite Font Sampler' by Plum Street Samplers at .Amy’s ~ Down Sunshine Lane
As for stitching, well, Bunny & Co. has kept me company, but it didn’t get finished for Easter.  I was even thinking of laying it aside after Sunday passed, but decided I’d regret it later, so it will get finished, hopefully before returning to work next week.  I’m ready to move on to something else if you can’t tell.I appreciate your comments and remarks very much.  It's nice to know we have stitching friends out there in the cyber world whether we see them often or not.  So now I'm headed off to see what you've been up to, try to leave a word or two for you, and get more enticed for something or other.
Hope y'all have a delightful weekend ~ safe from storms and other bad weather!

Spring Weather?

Hey, Friends!
It’s Saturday morning, and here I sit at my desk computer, with the thoughts of filing taxes at hand.  Do you think I’ve procrastinated just as long as possible?  Nah I’ll sort through this stash and put it away, throw out some envelopes, shop a bit, pay a couple of bills, read your blogs, wash a load of towels.  I’d like to say Thank You, Mr. Lincoln!Traditionally, Tax Day falls on April 15 unless that day happens to be on a Saturday, Sunday or federal holiday. In 2011, April 15 meets none of those criteria -- it falls on a Friday, and there's no federal holiday that day. You have Abraham Lincoln to thank for your extra couple of days. You see, in 2011, Washington, D.C., will celebrate Emancipation Day on April 15, a day earlier than normal, since April 16 falls on a Saturday. Emancipation Day marks the anniversary of the day that President Lincoln signed the Compensated Emancipation Act which freed 3,100 slaves in the District of Columbia. In observance of the DC holiday,Tax Day will be moved forward one business day, this year landing it on Monday, April 18.  OK - enough of the history lesson!

I’m very proud to say that I won the drawing from Stitching Dreams, Carol’s beautiful blog, and want you to see that Spring came in from my mailbox last week!  The sweetest ornament is hanging on my ornie tree and so much more precious in person, as lovely artwork usually is!
They’re forecasting another weekend like last, with storms and tornado possibilities.  I tried to get some shots of the hail.  We’ll have to see how those came out not the greatest, but you’ll get an idea of how quickly it came down mostly dime size, but some nickel and a few quarters.  I do hear a little rumble off in the distance, and the rain is coming down!
Stitching is continuing on Bunny & Co. and I’m enjoying it, but ready to get it finished and move on to the next.  With just a few threads each night, progress is slow.  Did I mention that this is the Spring Framing Special at my LNS, The Stitch and Frame Shop?  I took my BBD  'Winter Wonderland' yesterday and we spent nearly an hour looking at different choices.  Peggy has to be one of the most patient women!  I love the choice I made for this one, and have picked two frame pieces that I truly love, but didn’t suit as well for this project.  I think it will be perfect for Anniversaries of the Heart!
Thanks for stoppping by today, and I really do enjoy hearing whatever you have to say!  Hope to get by to see you soon, too!

Take the Cheese...

… the whining’s over!
Hey, Friends!
Just dropping in to say hello and our migration is complete.  We went LIVE on Tuesday with a practice registration on Friday, and I’m at home this morning not in the office for the first time in 13 days.  It has been so exhausting that most evenings I didn’t even feel like stitching getting home around 8:00 or later.  Hopefully this is the end of that!!
Last weekend was TuSAL day, but my post didn’t make it until a week late.  Sorry!  There hasn’t been much in the growth this month, but here’s an updated photo.  * Reminder:   TuSAL is in the side bar this year à
This is Bunny & Co. by With My Needle and Thread, to let you see the very little stitching that I have done.
I hope you’re having a great spring weekend doing things with the people you enjoy most!
